Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat-PENAMAS implements a double-blind peer review process, ensuring that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the evaluation. All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their relevance to community service and empowerment, adherence to author guidelines, and compliance with ethical standards. Only manuscripts that pass this initial review are sent to external reviewers.
Each manuscript is assigned to at least two independent reviewers who possess expertise relevant to the community service topic.
Authors may recommend up to three potential reviewers by providing:
Full name
Institutional affiliation
Area of expertise
Email address
The editorial team may accept or decline the suggested reviewers and may assign reviewers not proposed by the authors.
Reviewers must declare any potential conflicts of interest before accepting the assignment.
Manuscripts are assessed for originality, relevance, implementation quality, methodological clarity, community impact, and contribution to the field of community service and empowerment.
Reviewers provide comments and recommendations such as:
Accept
Minor Revision
Major Revision
Reject
Manuscripts requiring revision are returned to the authors, who must address all reviewer comments in a point-by-point response.
Revised manuscripts may be re-reviewed by the original reviewers or evaluated by the editorial team.
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on reviewer recommendations and editorial considerations.
After acceptance, the manuscript undergoes copyediting and layout preparation.
Authors will receive the galley proof for final correction.
Once approved, the article will be published online as an early-view version and assigned to a specific issue in the next publication cycle.
