Plagiarism Policy

JVS (Jurnal Vokasi Saintek) upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and strictly prohibits all forms of plagiarism. All manuscripts submitted to JVS must be original works that have not been previously published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere.

1. Plagiarism Screening

Every manuscript submitted to JVS will undergo plagiarism detection using reliable plagiarism-checking software.
The editorial team conducts this screening prior to the peer review process.
Manuscripts containing more than 20% similarity (excluding references) may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected outright.

2. Forms of Plagiarism

The journal considers the following actions as plagiarism, including but not limited to:

Direct plagiarism: Copying text word-for-word without proper citation.
Self-plagiarism: Republishing one’s own previously published work without disclosure or citation.
Mosaic plagiarism: Borrowing ideas or text with only minor changes but without proper attribution.
Improper paraphrasing: Rewriting someone else’s work without adequate acknowledgement.
Image, table, or data plagiarism: Using data, figures, or tables without obtaining permission or without proper citation.

3. Author Responsibilities

Authors must ensure that all sources are properly cited and referenced in accordance with the journal’s referencing style.
Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reuse previously copyrighted materials.
If similarity is detected after publication, authors must cooperate fully with the editorial office in resolving the issue.

4. Editorial Actions in Case of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected at any stage (before or after publication), JVS may:

Reject the manuscript immediately.
Request corrections or revisions from the authors.
Withdraw or retract the published article (in severe cases).
Inform the authors’ institution or funding body if necessary.
Ban the authors from submitting to JVS for a specified period.

5. Post-Publication Concerns

If plagiarism is reported after publication, the journal will investigate the case following COPE guidelines. Depending on the severity, a correction, expression of concern, or retraction may be issued.
